Most “autonomous AI” tools still hand you a task list. An AI CEO inverts that: you describe an outcome — “₹1 crore MRR”, “launch the new product line by Q3”, even “plan the wedding under ₹8 lakh” — and the CEO Pie does the decomposition, the staffing, and the day-to-day chasing. 1. The goal you set
Everything starts with intent. You give the CEO Pie a goal in plain language from the same chat thread you already use for approvals. That goal becomes the root of a lineage: every task the workforce later picks up traces back to why it exists, so there's no orphan busywork and no drift from what you actually asked for.
2. Strategy — as an approval, not a surprise
Before any work happens, the CEO Pie proposes a strategy: how it plans to reach the goal, what roles it needs, and the first moves. That strategy arrives as a decision card on your phone. You approve, edit, or reject it. This is the first turn of the leash — the CEO cannot commit the company to a direction without your sign-off, because the approval broker is default-deny. If you ignore it, it expires safely; the default is no.
3. Staffing — the right Pies for the job
With a strategy approved, the CEO Pie staffs it. It assigns work to existing Pies by role — Sales, Ops, Support, Research — and where it's short-handed it raises a hire request. Serving a new Pie is itself an approval, and every freshly served Pie starts on the shortest leash (autonomy L1) with a conservative budget. The org becomes a strict tree: every Pie has exactly one manager, a title, and a job description — structure, not a swarm.
4. Task breakdown — conflict-proof work
The CEO Pie breaks the strategy into atomic tasks with single assignees and priorities. Because tasks are checked out atomically, no two Pies ever grab the same job, and a blocked task has to explain itself with a comment. Decisions that need you — a confirmation, a choice between options — surface as one-click cards, not buried chat.
5. Heartbeat execution — always-on, never always-billing
Now the workforce runs. Pies wake on a heartbeat — a short scheduled window, an @-mention, or an approval resolution — do their work, report in writing, and sleep. They cost nothing idle. And here is the governance twist that separates PAI from raw orchestration: every heartbeat is pre-gated. If policy or the kill switch says no, the runtime never even starts the run. Every action that does run is signed into a tamper-evident chain you can verify offline. The autopilot is always on a leash, even at 3am.
6. Escalation — it asks before it guesses
On every heartbeat the CEO Pie runs a stall checklist: unblock what it can, escalate what it can't. Anything it cannot resolve — or anything that crosses a trust line, like an outbound email above L1 or any payment — comes back to you as a card. Payments and deletes are floored at human approval no matter how high you set the autonomy dial. The CEO runs the company; you remain the board.
